By Mask Together America: Mask bans are disability injustice, discrimination, and violation of human rights. They could also be an ADA issue. No one should be required to disclose reasons they wear a mask. Harassing someone to unmask or justify wearing effective mitigation tools is an intrusion of privacy. And being forced to remove your mask even briefly creates a chance to get infected. Forcing people to get sick in public spaces is un-American, raises huge equity issues.

🇺🇸 USA Letter Campaign - HEPA air purifiers are a medical necessity for all and should be automatically eligible on Health Savings Accounts.
By Chloe Humbert: HEPA air purifiers should be automatically included as eligible for FSA and other health savings accounts. Health Savings accounts like FSA (Flexible Spending Accounts) currently require a Letter of Medical Necessity from a healthcare provider for verification when using FSA to purchase air purifiers and replacement HEPA filters. The IRS does NOT require a Letter of Medical Necessity for PPE such as respirator and medical masks, and hand sanitizer, "for the primary purpose of preventing spread" of respiratory virus. In addition to removing pathogens from the air, air purifiers are used in many parts of the country now at times for air pollution such as wildfire smoke. This is a medical necessity for all humans and should not require a diagnosis or a Letter of Medical Necessity.

We also ask that there be scrutiny of any "burrowed in" Trump appointees that might be steering the CDC toward endangering public safety. We need to at least keep the safety guidelines we have until we figure out what’s going on at the CDC. Ideally, the government ought to be strengthening public health protections.

By People’s CDC: We have until June 9, 2023 to tell the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS) that hospitals should give us care, not COVID. CMS has a huge influence on hospitals. 94% of hospitals have at least half of their admissions paid for by Medicare or Medicaid. CMS already penalizes hospitals which fail to keep patients safe from other hospital-acquired infections and could push hospitals to protect patients from catching COVID when in their care.
